Bill Clinton favorite quote
“ Individual character
involves honoring and embracing certain core ethical values, honesty, respect,
responsibility…Parents must teach their children from the earliest age the
difference between right and wrong, but we must all do our part”
An excerpt from Bill Clinton:
My friends, for centuries, over two now, the American Dream
has represented a compact that those who work hard and play by the rules should
be able to build better lives for themselves and for their children. In this
time, and even more into the future, child care that is too expensive, unsafe
or unavailable will be a very stubborn obstacle to realizing that dream. So let
us commit ourselves to clearing the obstacle, to helping parents fulfill their
most sacred duty, to keeping the American.
Sue Bredekamp favorite quote:
"As we advocate for
the practices we believe serve children best, it is particularly vital that we
be clear in our own thinking and precise in our communication."
An excerpt from Sue Bredekamp:
" The
mental model reminds teachers that everyday they need to engage children in
learning opportunities in each of the 5 gateways: talking (speaking and listening);
literacy-enriched play; reading, especially interactive, dialogic reading;
writing throughout the day; and learning the code–phonological awareness and
alphabet knowledge–through meaningful, engaging experiences.
“The passion was that all children were
taught in an environment that truly nurtured their ability to develop and
grow.” Louise Derman- Sparks

My Mother- she was the one person
who influenced my life as growing up as a child by showing, kindness,
compassion, peace, and calmness. She taught me how to cook and was there when I
was down or upset about something. She helped me to make the right choices
without prejudice and made it seem it was a choice I made. Even when I was
having a rough time in school she knew just the right words to make it seem
less like a problem. Even has I grew into an adult my mother was always there
until the day she past away.

Sister- My sister was my partner in many ways from
getting into trouble with me or just hanging out with her baby sister. She
would always include me when she would hang out with her friends. She would
help me with my homework and walk me to and from school. She was the one who
talked me into going to college on line so she would have someone to do home
work with. She and I had a dream of running a daycare together she would do all
the paperwork and I would be one of the teachers. But about 2 years ago she died
of complication from a stroke. As you can see we acted like children this was
our last trip together.

available no matter where they were from. She was always there to help us she
would give up her lunch or stay after to help me. I has a lot of problems when I was in 6th grade but she always saw the good in me. I believe It is because of her is why I wanted to be a teacher. I want to be the kind of teacher she was and put my students first no matter how young or where they
came from. She was one teacher that I have never forgotten and remember what she used to say to me, “Mary You have the potential to be a wonderful caring person and you can be a teacher if you want.” And that is what I am working for.
Best friend- She was with me since 6th grade through middle school. We were in the
same classes and she would do my homework for me when I didn’t do it. But one
day she said she was not going to do it any more for me. That was a good move
because once I started doing it I find out just how much I was learning and was
able to gain my confidence that I could be a wonderful teacher. So she gave me
a push and it help me out by showing me what my teacher was talking about there
is a world out there to be discovered. I would not have made it through those
years without her, we are still in touch with one another and try to get
together at least once a month.

My husband- He may not have been from my childhood but if it wasn’t for him I would not be
going to college. When my sister came up with the ideal of going to school
together he gave me the courage to do it. He told to go for my dream and he was
behind me 100%. He went out and bought me a computer and help me look up
schools on-line. My sister had already picked a school out. It was hard to
start doing school on the internet but my husband Jeff was showing me how easy
it would become so I can still work and have time for the grandsons. I do not
know where I would be doing in my life without his support. It was wonderful
knowing he had my back and knew we would be in debt for a long time. But all he
wanted was for me to live my dream. I lost him 4 years ago to cancer and just
finished in July of this year with my BA in ECE and I thought I would not stop
there I would get my Masters and know he is still my best supporter.
