The first program I chose was Early Childhood Alliance. The reason
for this is because Early Childhood Alliance has
been furnishing programs and services to meet the needs of families and
children, in northern Indiana. It is recognized as a leader in the early care
and education field. They use High Scope curriculum,
which supports the Foundations for Young Children to the Indiana Academic
Standards. They use nationally recognized Daily activities that help children –
from infancy through kindergarten – develop physically, socially, and
emotionally. The best part is what they call Pathways to quality which has 4 levels.
They have many job openings for teachers full
and part time. Depending on which one you choose the requirements are from age
18 or older and at least an associate degree. They have a job opening for pre-k
that I apply for and an interested in.

They
are not hiring at this time and you need at least a BA in ECE.

that are important to them and the free choice is designed to give the child a sense of control and to learn to make their own decisions.

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blog was very informative. The teaching tree sounds fun and intriguing to engage children to explore freely to different activities that interest them . As educators it's important to provide activities children become involved to express themselves freely or students will feel bored. That's why I always make sure my lesson plan are hands on because I want my students to feel confident in critical thinking skills through direct observation and understand what's going on and to do things for themselves, which will help them with learning independently later on in life.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteHead start is a program I am very familiar with, and it is a great program. So many opportunities are given to families to better themselves so the child can be better. The intentional learning provides children with a lot of learning opportunities.

Mary, I like the Pathways to Quality chart. It gives a clear picture of the progression of services that your provide to reach the highest level. The Teaching Tree seems exciting too as it provides opportunities to learn self-management skills at an early age. Thank you for sharing.
